The story of a crêpe      Ah, the pancakes... Historians establish the origin of the pancake at 7000 BC. At that time, it was a rather thick pancake, made out of water and various mixed crushed cereals. The savory pancakes are always made with buckwheat flour. The advantage of this flour is that it is gluten free. The buckwheat pancake is to be distinguished from the sweet pancake, for which wheat flour, milk, eggs and butter are used. But in both cases, the preparation becomes more delicious with its garnish! Honestly I asked myself this question several times and the more I think about it, the more it becomes obvious why I love this region so much. Beside the fact that my other half was born and raised there, there is quite few more aspects why Brittany feels so special to me. Today I would like to share with you my favourite things about this region.  "Paris is the heart of France, then I dare to say Brittany is her soul"  CLIMATE Let's face it, Brittany is not famous for its weather. Hello everybody!

My name's Weronika and I'm a master's degree student of French philology. I lived in France for 2 years, in the Occitanie region in the south of France. Even though I loved living next to the Mediterranean sea, spending long, summer days at the beach, wandering around little charming towns admiring the architecture and absorbing the southern culture and style of living, I still feel more attached to a region which is quite opposite from Occitanie.       I think it was the wilderness of the Atlantic coast that made me fall in love with Brittany. I’ve visited this region numerous times and every time it felt like coming back home. There is so much to discover in Brittany! So much that I haven't discovered myself yet! But having a chance to have lived with a Breton family for a while, made me learn a lot about this unique place.  Let's find out more and explore together this hidden gem of France 💓
